Constitution Day Celebrations- Preamble Reading Session

The Department of Political Science, The IIS (Deemed to be University), organized a Preamble reading session on 26th November, 2021 as part of celebrations for seventh Constitution Day / Samvidhāna Divasa, also known as "National Law Day". The purpose of organizing this event was to increase the awareness regarding the Indian Constitution amongst the students and citizens, as on this day our Constitution was adopted and enacted by the Constituent Assembly. The constitution being a vital document and the supreme law of the land helps in carrying out country’s operations by laying down the national goals, which are Democracy, Socialism, Secularism and National Integration. This Preamble reading session was a tribute to the founding fathers and Dr. B.R.Ambedkar, who was the chairman of the Drafting Committee. The political ideas set in the preamble of the constitution affirm our faith in Justice, Liberty, Equality and Fraternity. The Vice Chancellor , Dr. Ashok Gupta led this preamble reading session  along with the entire faculty of The IIS University and also addressed the session. He spoke about the Indian Constitution and the significant contribution of its makers who took responsibility to unite the nation as one. Students took the Oath of the Constitution by verbally reading the Preamble.The session ended with a vote of thanks by the Head, Department of Political Science, The IIS University.
