The objectives of this course are to acquaint the student with major constitutions of Europe. The historical background of each constitution is to be emphasized to gain an understanding of its evolution. Furthermore, the political institutions are to be studied in the light of the political process to gain an understanding of the dynamics of actual politics and policy making.
This course helps the student to evaluate the evolutionary process of political system in major European nations and their position in the present time.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: CO103: Understand the historical growth, nature, and functioning of the UK Constitution, including the role of the Crown, the King, and the Cabinet in governance. CO104: Understand the practical implications of the British Parliament, Judiciary, Local Government, Political Parties, Rule of Law, and Delegated Legislation in UK's constitutional framework. CO105: Explore the key features of the Swiss Constitution, the roles of the legislature, executive, and judiciary, the concept of direct democracy, and the role of political parties in Swiss governance. CO106: Examine the historical evolution, nature, and structure of the French Constitution, including the functions of the executive, legislature, judiciary, local government, and political parties.
