Objective: 

Course Rationale: This paper highlights the main sources of the political tradition in ancient India and its development in modern times. It critically assesses the contribution of key ancient and modern Indian political thinkers and explains their relevance to contemporary times.

 

The Objectives of this course are to:

1.  Understand about the nature and significance of Indian Political thought

2.  Increase knowledge of the history of classical and political thought and the fundamental values and ethical issues contested in politics over time

Indian Political Thinkers – I

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

CO5:  Analyse the political thoughts of important Indian thinkers and concepts  and their correlation and contradictions. At the same time they will be able to do critical assessment of their thoughts.

CO6:  Understand the nature, methods and significance of Indian political thought.

CO7:  Develop the interconnectedness between various socio-political issues and draw inferences on the same.

CO8: Identify the basic reasons for the social stratification in Indian Politics.
