Objective: 

Course Rationale: This paper provides an insight into the foreign policies of the US and China as well as an in-depth study of the policy India has pursued in her dealings with other nations of the world. The paper will enable the students to analyze some of the issues related with security and development concerns of India- particularly with reference to the impediments and opportunities in achieving national interest.

 

The objectives of this course are to:

1. Identify major concepts and principles of International system and foreign policies of major powers.

2. Acquaint the students with the ability to analyse them with a theoretical framework of international relations.

3. Provide a framework to understand the features of International relations and their practical application.

CO70: Demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of key elements of political analysis of US power and hegemony.

CO71: Get a clear and comprehensive understanding of the role played by the United State world affairs.

CO72: Know India’s position with the major global powers and the reasons behind its policy stances.

CO73; Understand the role that China plays in regional and international affairs and about is ‘global’ aspirations.
