Objective: 

 This paper focuses in detail on the freedom struggle of India and the growth of constitutional and parliamentary democracy in India Through the various Acts passed during the British regime It incorporates the influences that shaped the course of modern India. It enables the students to understand the background of the Indian Constitutional.

The objectives of this course are to:

  1. Enhances the ability of students to understand evolution and philosophy of Indian Constitution.
  2. Enable students to understand historical processes and circumstances in which the Constitution was drafted
  3. Provide opportunity for students to be familiar with the diverse visions that guided the makers of the Indian Constitution

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

CO62: Explain and analyze a key historical event or process in the area and during the period under study

CO63: Acquire knowledge about major landmarks in the freedom movement of India

CO64: Acquaint themselves with the role played by Gandhi in  freedom struggle , in the most peaceful and constructive way till the attainment of independence of India
