Model United Nations

On 05th March 2020, the Department of Political Science organized its very first Model United Nations (MUN) for students. Model United Nations, also known as Model UN or MUN, is an educational simulation and/or academic activity in which students can learn about diplomacy, international relations, and the United Nations. MUN involves and teaches participants speaking, debating, and writing skills, in addition to critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership abilities.

The students participated in great number and prepared rigorously and enthusiastically for the event one month in advance.

This activity generated a very good sense of team work and leadership skills in the students. Also one noticeable outcome of the event was that the students had prepared their topics thoroughly and done their research to a very good extent. Also initially the students who hesitated in speaking publically, eventually started taking interest in the debate and represented their thoughts in impressionable ways. The overall outcome was very positive on the side of the students, at the same time was an enriching and highly informative session.
