Objective of the workshop/seminar/activity:   To make the students oriented about the importance of Constitution Day and significance of Preamble for Indians.

 Summary/Description (max 500 words): 

Constitution Day, also known as Samvidhan Divas or National Law Day, is celebrated in India on November 26 every year to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India. The day aims to mark the significance of the constitutional values among the citizens of India and also, to bring awareness of the importance of the Indian Constitution and its architect, Dr. BR Ambedkar. While laying the foundation stone for the Statue of Equality on October 11, 2015, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared the day.

The Constitution of India 1950 was drafted by the Constituent Assembly from 1946-1950. It was on 26 November 1949 that India's Constituent Assembly adopted its Constitution. As of 26 January 1950 (Republic Day), it came into effect.

To keep on that inspirational motive of constitution day, like every year  this year Department of Political Science also celebrate the constitution Day .The event starts with the short description of historical importance of constitution .Dr.Archana Gupta (HoD of Political Science )summarized the series of event in particular decade .She inform the student that the Constitution of India 1950 was drafted by the Constituent Assembly from 1946-1950. It was on 26 November 1949 that India's Constituent Assembly adopted its Constitution. As of 26 January 1950 (Republic Day), it came into effect. She leads the oath ceremony in which every student of the department takes the oath to adopt all the writings of the preamble.

Outcome of the activity/event/seminar/workshop: The session make the student to adapt and follow the all writing of  Preamble .
