To commemorate the occasion of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, Celebrating India: 75 years of Independence, the Department of Political Science, organized a documentary screening and interactive session on 23rd September 2021. The major aim of the documentary screening was to make the students of Political Science aware about the journey of progressive India since 75 years of independence. The golden moment of independence dawned on India due to the invaluable contribution by both known and unknown. The documentary showcased the struggle of our freedom fighters, the sacrifices made by them. It also presented the achievements of the Indian Prime Ministers, their foreign policies and remarkable development in various arenas like economy, manufacturing, space, railways, and infrastructure in the journey of 75 years. It highlighted the progress from 1991 Economic Liberalisation to Aatmanirbhar Bharat. For being eight times member of United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to PM Modi becoming first Indian prime minister to chair a UNSC debate. It presented a glorious journey from a wounded nation to an emerging global power. The documentary provided students with various facts and gave a clear meaning of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. The documentary proved to be very enriching for all the participants who joined. The screening of documentary was accompanied by an interactive discussion where the students discussed their views about glorious past and bright future of India.

The discussion was successful in enlightening young minds and received an overwhelming response from the participants.
