Summary/Description:
The Department of Political Science and International Relations at The IIS University celebrated Parakram Diwas on 23rd January 2025 to commemorate the birth anniversary of one of India’s greatest freedom fighters, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
The celebration commenced at 10:00 AM in the university’s Seminar Room, with the presence of faculty members, students, and invited dignitaries. The event began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by a floral tribute to Netaji’s portrait. The Head of the Department, Dr. Archana Gupta, welcomed the audience and shared the significance of Parakram Diwas. In her address, she emphasized the importance of remembering national heroes like Subhas Chandra Bose who envisioned a free and self-reliant India.
The highlight of the event was a special lecture titled “Subhas Chandra Bose: A Symbol of Courage and Leadership”, delivered by Ms. Latika Yadav, who spoke about Netaji’s ideology, his role in the Indian National Army, and his unwavering commitment to India’s freedom. The lecture shed light on lesser-known aspects of Netaji’s life, inspiring students to delve deeper into historical narratives beyond textbooks.
Through this celebration, the Department successfully fostered a spirit of parakram (valor) and inspired students to reflect on leadership, sacrifice, and national service. Parakram Diwas at The IIS University was not only a tribute to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose but also a meaningful academic and cultural experience for all participants.
