Objective of the workshop/seminar/activity:   To make the students oriented with the University and the curriculum of Department

Summary/Description (max 500 words): 

The Department of Political Science, IIS (Deemed to be University) organized an Orientation session to integrate the students into the department and make the students and faculty familiar of each other.  The session began with the welcome of new students by Dr Archana . The students were provided with insights about curriculum, innovative pedagogies, and annual events of the department. Students interacted with the faculty regarding their queries. The significance of thinking beyond classroom teaching schedule and develop critical thinking for successful understanding of the subject was explained to new students.  It was an inspiring interactive session where the eminent alumni of the department -Latika Yadav and Chhavi Saini narrated their experiences to the students that apart of study , new students should enjoy each and every activities of the University .Alumni share some of their personal experiences and motivated students to work hard for three years to create a strong base of future.

Students of III and V semester beautifully picturized the skit about IISU life .Senior students of the department to make the session more fun and interactive by giving small tasks to new students of department .

Toward the end of the session the stage was kept open for Questions from the audience.

The discussion was successful in enlightening young minds and received an overwhelming response from the participants. 

Outcome of the activity/event/seminar/workshop: The session created awareness amongst the students regarding the  Department and to build bond with other students and faculty.
