Course Objectives: The objectives of this course are to introduce students to the mechanics of foreign policy making; identify the issues that influence the policy in order for them to develop a perspective on the emerging trends in Indian foreign policy; introduce the students to the traditions in Indian foreign policy which have defined the nation’s strategic approaches to myriad themes and shaped and conditioned its perspectives in terms of national interest; introduce the student genre to the changing contours of Indian foreign policy through the 21st century; and understand the foundational aspects of foreign policy and also gain an understanding on the mechanics and dynamics of foreign policy making and implementation
