Objective: 

• To introduce researchers to the elements of Political Science. • To familiarize researchers to the processes and problems in political Science and explore their solutions through research. • To impart knowledge of recent developments in Political Science.

Political Theories: Liberalism, Utilitarianism, Idealism, Anarchism, Marxism

Unit II: 

Indian Government and Politics: Indian Constitution-Recent Developments, Process of Governance- New Issues, Major problems facing Democracy- Regionalism, Communalism, Casteism, Terrorism

Unit III: 

International Relations- Theories- Realism, Idealism, Neo-realism; Cold War and its impact on the world; International and Regional Organizations- UN , SAARC,ASEAN, BRICS, India and its Neighbors, Major Issues- Oil Politics, Arab Spring

Unit IV: 

Public Administration - Meaning, Nature, Scope; Public and Private Administration, New Public Administration, Bureaucracy, Independent Regulatory Commission, Budgetary Process in India.

Unit V: 

Local Self Government - Evolution and growth -73rd and 74th Constitutional Amendment Act, Structures of Rural Local Government, Structures of Urban Local Government.
