Course Rationale: This paper focuses in detail on the freedom struggle of India and India’s tryst with destiny. It incorporates the influences that shaped the course of modern India. It also traces the constitutional development of India so as to provide the student an insight into the present Indian Constitution.
The objectives of this course are to:
1. Understand about the development of Indian Constitution and about the particular arrangement in Indian Constitution
2. Make student understand about the development of administrative structures during the British rule

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: CO29: Critically understand the legacy of British Rule in India CO30: Identify different administrative changes introduced by the British and understand about different political associations and their political strategies.
