Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: CO43: Evaluate the contemporary relevance of Shri Aurobindo and M.N. Roy's political ideas with critical synthesis. CO44: Synthesize Lohia and Narayan's political ideologies, assessing their impact on Indian politics with advanced critical analysis. CO45: Assess Rabindranath Tagore and B.R. Ambedkar's philosophical and sociological foundations of political thought, incorporating Eastern and Western perspectives. CO46: Critically evaluate Gandhi's socio-political and economic philosophies alongside Savarkar's Hindutva theory, examining their implications for modern society. CO 47: Analyze the philosophical foundations of Subhash Chandra Bose and Nehru's political ideas, evaluating their contributions to Indian political thought. Rabindranath Tagore: Philosophical foundation of political thought, philosophy of eastern and western civilization, sociological foundation of political thought, theory of rights, freedom, critique of nationalism.
B. R. Ambedkar : Social views- Hindu social order, caste system, position of women, social reforms, untouchability, Political ideas- state, form of government, rights and freedoms of citizens, successful democracy, Role in constitution making.
M.K. Gandhi: Social philosophy- Untouchability, Ashram system, position of women, religion, political ideas- truth, nonviolence, Satyagraha movement, Concept of Ramrajya and Economic ideas- khadi, swadeshi, bread labour, economic trusteeship. Relevance of Gandhian Philosophy in contemporary world.
Savarkar: Interpretation of Indian History, Theory of Hindutva.
