Course Objectives: The objectives of this course are to enabling students to understand concepts such as State, Sovereignty and Statehood, State Responsibility and Liability; introducing students to the principal treaties within international law and calls upon them to consider the context at hand in factual situations; and focusing upon the laws governing the conduct of independent nation states

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: CO121: analyse the laws governing aerial navigation and outer space while analyzing the role of the United Nations in the settlement of international disputes. CO122: Identify various concepts surrounding the laws of war and its effects on various stakeholders CO123: Analyze the laws governing land, maritime, submarine and aerial warfare, including prohibited means, war stratagems, treatment of prisoners of war, and guerrilla warfare. CO124: evaluate concepts such as war crimes, genocide, prize courts. Additionally, students will analyze the legal mechanisms for the termination of war CO125: Comprehend the concepts of neutrality including continuous voyage, contraband, blockade and unneutral service in international law CO126: Contribute effectively in Course specific interaction. |
