Objective: 

Learning Objectives:This course brings together politics, economics and international relations on issues relevant to the global economy that affect important policy issues. The IPE is an interdisciplinary academic field within international relations which seeks to help students to:

  • familiarize with the theories and dynamic linkages among markets, states and institutions, and civil society in the regional and global context;
  •  perceive political foundations and consequences of the contemporary world economy; and
  • gain the understanding of the significance of increased transnational economics in relations between governments

Learning Outcomes:On completion of this course, students should be able to:

  • consider prevailing trends in the domestic and international politics influencing the economic relations between states;
  •  identify potential roles of the economic institutions in the working of international political landscape;
  • research questions in international political economy and to formulate arguments in defence of a position: and
  • engage in complex working of politico-economic institutions with an enhanced knowledge
