Objective: 

The objectives of this course are to:

1. Understand the diversity of key aspects of political systems around the world and other differences across countries such as social movements, political culture, political parties, party systems, regimes, states and policy-making processes

2. Acquaint the students with the meaning of fundamental institutions of democratic regimes: legislatures, the executive and its bureaucracy, law and judicial systems, elections, interest groups

CO117: Develop skills in independent inquiry, design and manage a piece of original project work.

Approach in teaching:

 

Students to carry out investigation of various political issues through primary and secondary sources.

 

Practical application of research techniques through field visits and preparation of reports.

Classroom discussions.

Preparation of Report. Continuous evaluation of drafts and discussion of the work with the students.
