The Department of Political Science organized a guest Lecture on 19th August 2015 on ‘Role of Ethics in Good Governance’. The keynote speaker was Prof. Sangeeta Sharma, from the Department of Public Administration, University of Rajasthan. Prof Sangeeta delivered a lecture on conceptual constructs in the field of Governance and spoke on the role of ethics in good Governance. She focused on the value approach for promoting ethical practices in the governance and establishment of a legal framework and ethical infrastructure. She spoke on the significance and sustainable impact of moral values and ethical principles on the professional conduct of public servants. She further added that good governance is an exercise of political, economic and administrative authority to manage national affairs. She said quality and effectiveness of governance is crucial to national prosperity.
